The Elliptical Trainer Vs. The Treadmill

Author: Faith Prieur
For years there have been bloody battles fought over which is better the elliptical trainer or the treadmill. When the treadmill was first conceive and brought into homes all across America people were in awe, they could not believe that something so convenient and perfect could ever really exist. What? The ability to walk and run in winter without having to go outside? No way! But there it was and then when the elliptical hit the market. Well, needless to say there was plenty of mayhem to go around. People freaked out they were so excited. And for good reason: these machines are the closest things to a perfect workout that you are ever going to get.

When you are in the market for new exercise machines what are your preferences? Probably you want something that is fun and versatile, something that is low impact. Maybe something that will fit into the tight corners of your teeny tiny home. Well you can find a elliptical trainer that will fill all of these needs and so many more. Even needs you didn't know you had will be filled by these amazing pieces of metal.

For many people space is a giant issue. Most of us don't have room to devote an entire room to this kind of machines. The cost of housing is so high that most people will never even own their own home. The elliptical industry has taken all of this into consideration and come up with some of the most convenient exercise machines available. You will be able to fit these into just about any room of your home except maybe your bathroom. And who really wants one in there anyway?

Treadmills are notorious for their size and they can eat up a room like nobody's business, but not an elliptical. There are a bunch of treadmills that can be folded up but these are usually not very good ones in terms of quality. A good treadmill should be big, it needs to be in order to support your weight and your stride. Yet another reason why ellipticals are such a superior machines to buy for your home and your life.

With an elliptical trainer you will get a better workout in less space and less time. They are also almost always more affordable, especially for the quality.

The most important benefit of all when it comes to elliptical machines is their ultra low impact exercise. Treadmills are full of painful impact. Your knees, feet and back not to mention your hips will all suffer over time if you are always using the treadmill but when you are using an elliptical trainer you will never have to worry about joint or back pain again. There is just no real competition when it comes to treadmills and ellipticals. Ellipticals have the race won flat out!
