Marketers Search Engines: Make Use of Their Advantages

Author: Paul Flyer

How can a website get noticed?

How can it develop steady organic traffic?

By leveraging the power of the Marketer Search Engines, webmasters can begin to build traffic.

What is a Marketer Search Engine? A search engine that simply cannot be ignored by marketers and provides tools that enable marketers to reach the large search engine audience.

Essentially all three big search engines, Google, Yahoo and MSN, are all Marketer Search Engines. While they do strive to provide better results for searchers, they place a very large emphasis on helping marketers reach those searchers. There is no way around it, webmasters cannot ignore Google and the potential traffic it could provide. Only very large or well known sites can tiptoe around Google. The rest of us need its traffic.

How can webmasters use the Marketer Search Engines to their advantage?

*well designed pages
*pages optimized for the search engines
*use of marketing tools such as Adwords and Adsense and their cousins
*a healthy link building campaign

While there is no room to go into all four points in depth, webmasters need to seriously look at all four.

*Well designed pages

Can the big three read the pages? Are they easily crawled? Is there content for the spiders to "eat"? Can readers easily read the content?

*Optimized pages

Does each webpage have a good title? Are heading tags used to their advantage? Are chosen keywords clearly focused on within the content of the article? While well optimized pages are no predictor of search engine result placement, they provide a solid foundation for good placement.

*Using Adwords/Adsense and others

The best kind of traffic is well qualifed focused traffic. Is Adwords being used to drive such traffic to the site? Conversely, is Adsense being used to provide highly qualifed paying clicks?

*Link building

Is the content on the site linkable? In other words, would others be compelled to link to it? Is your website known or simply stumbled upon? Are others being told about the website? are links being asked for? Forget reciprocal links, simply ask for a link or a review.

The Marketer Search Engines are there for you, the marketer. Failing to take advantage of their resources will mean slow going for any website. While the Web is far more than these search engines alone, beginning websites can't ignore them.
